Default What is all involved with supercharging a LS1

Just trying to weigh my options for he future, and was wondering what all would i need to have a successful setup (with any kit), im still trying to figure out if i wanna go head/cam/nitrous or FI but its not in the Near future, just doing some planning. your insight will be appreciated.

Well first off, you need to decide what you exactly want to do. This coming from a owner of a Pro Charger they cost big $. I would say everything you need including dyno and tune to charge your car by Pro Charger around 6,500. A basic charger (ATI ps1c ho) would start off by using 6 pounds of boost.Then you will need bigger Injectors,Inline fuel pump or In tank, new plugs(NGK)a definite fuel pressure gauge.

What kind of HP increase are you getting with that kit, and is it worth it over a head/cam/nitrous setup?

I had this same thought about 6 months ago, and that is when i came across the incon kit. Here is what i bought when i did it

Turbo kit = 4500
42# injectors = 400
clutch (ram) = 400
tuning = 400
guages = 500
whalbro 340 = 100
fuel lines = 200

Total price =$6500 to have 500 at the wheels!! Can't beat it, Boost rules! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[gruffy cottonball]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_gruffy.gif" />

I made an extra 133 horses from it Im very pleased! You said you might spray it. Depending on how much horse power you want, the LS1 cant handle more than around 550 horse on the stock Internals depending on how you drive it!! If your going to upgrade to both the charger and spray I highly recommend getting forged internals with either set up. I was quoted 3000 for mine including the crank,pistons,rings,rods,etc. and thats all with the motor being taken out and dumped back in. I also have a cam, and full exhaust, with other mods. You cant go wrong with the heads and cam package,It will make everything flow real nice and It's worth it. I't all depends on if you want to go all out! Do you want a race car? Do you want a car that's fast and still economically street and gas drivability. When you figure that out you'll know what you have to do. Let me know.
