Default Paging all Water/Alky injection guys

Hi guys

I have a few Qs for you on Water/Alky injection.

What size tank are you using?

How long does the typical tank last in spirited driving?

Do you mount the tank in the spare tire area and run the lines forward?

Are you just using a small inline pump to feed the nozzles?

How are you triggering it? WOT switch or something more complicated?

What mix of water alky are you using?

How much extra timing can you run with this setup?

Is tuning more difficult or easier with this setup

Do you save much weight using this setup over a tradition Air to Air intercooler system with all its associated tubing?

I think this could be a great setup if you had a plastic cell run from the spare tire well (Better traction ) with inline bosch pump or similar with braided lines running up to the injector plate and some form of switch to activate it.

Thanks for any advice you can give

Chris

I've had an SMC kit, running 20PSI on the pump, in my Laser for 6 weeks or so. I've run through about one tank (32 oz) and it's turned up to over 6 (out of ten). I'm on the throttle all the time, too. So usage isn't really an issue. The good thing about the SMC kit is that is easy to install and the flow rate and boost setting is tunable, so you can mess with the boost and dial it in to your EGTs or whatever, all from the comfort of you cockpit. Detonation is history! Check it out on the GN sites as most of the street going 9, 10 and 11 second cars use them.

If you fab your own you have to tailor the flow rate to your car somehow. It's not impossible, but it is long, laborious and tedious to keep ripping up the system until you have it right, plus you can't just turn it up when you want.

A tank lasts around ten- 10 second wot runs.

This allows for short lines and non pressuerized lines when not needed.Less than 1 sec from start of pump to full flow and pressure.

5 gallon fuel cell in the hatch
lasts for months, I get into boost everytime I drive but I do only drive the car 2-3 times a week if that.

I too was able to run 8 more degrees timing

Same pump as Steve.

I use a pressure switch to activate it.

50/50 water/denatured

I have an in-car wideband and ls1-edit so tuning is no problem
