Fuel injector question At what point should the stock fuel injectors be replaced and with what size?
What are the signs that the motor is starving for fuel? detonation?
What are the signs that the motor is starving for fuel? detonation?
Here is a webpage worksheet that will help you determine what size injector to run. This is the safe, engineering way to choose. True you can push them farther than what this says, but this is how to safely desing your setup (80% duty cycle).

And with a carb motor your car will usually fall on it's face in 2nd gear at the track & then come back to life if you are running out of fuel (because of the fuel bowls running dry). I'm not sure about efi cars. I would expect them to run out of power at hi rpms when the inj or pump can't keep up. And if it goes too lean, it could detonate.
