Engine/head Removal W/ Incon Kit
Anyone removed the engine from the Top with the Incon kit?
I've disassembled the upper half, manifold, rad, and all the accessories. Pulled the rockers and pushrods and loosened the manifold bolts.
But what I don't know is if I can remove the heads without taking the turbos out. I don't have the stock K member so they won't rest on that.
I was going to bungy cord them up and over to the hood bracket to hold them up.
Will they drop right down if I've removed the oil feed lines and Y pipe?
I'll just take them off if they slip right down, I worry about screwing up the actuators and custom brackets I had made for the larger units.
My goal would be to remove the engine and tranny, as one unit leaving the turbo's in place if thats possible.
Thanks

I wouldn't try it. You'll be mighty upset if one crashes to the floor. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" />
The passenger side will practily drop out. The driver side you will have to take the actuator off and then it should come out. This shouldn't be that bad if you have a tubular k-member. Don't forget about the coolant lines.
Good luck. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

They will drop out. I have custom actuator brackets as well. I would remove the actuator and brackets. Drop the k-member down if you need too for clearance. Just have the car up about 30" off the ground and they will come off easy. I have done it a few times already.
