fuel injector question
I have a ProCharged 2002 Yukon. From what I've read here, it seems like the most reliable way to go is the ditch the FMU and get bigger injectors. I've used the online calculators and they say I should be using 34lb injectors. Are upgraded injectors straight plug and play with a little tuning, or do I have to upgrade the harness, fuel rail, etc.?

Re: fuel injector question
they just plug in but you will need to tell the computer you changed them with ls1edit or send off the computer. what are you plans with the truck? if you plan on making more mods you might want to go bigger, if you don't plan on pushing it then just use what the procharger came with.
what did the procharger come with as far as a fmu? one other thing, the trucks use special injectors the only place i know of that has an injector bigger than 30lb is http://www.rceng.com/technical.htm, they sell a set of 41lb(@59psi) that bolt/plug right in but they are around $600 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

Re: fuel injector question
So the trucks don't use the same injectors and the LS1 cars?
My kit came with a 4" FMU. That's all the parts list states, so I don't know the ratio.
Right now, I don't plan on any major mods, maybe TOG headers, and when the tranny goes out, a yank convertor and possibly an eaton posi. But I really got the HP itch now that I got my truck dyno'd at MMS, so who knows what will happen.
It put out 358 HP to the rear wheels. The graphs showed that it was starting to run lean at about 4600 rpm, so my PCM is being reprogrammed by Ed Wright as we speak.
BTW, would you happen to know the size of the stock injectors?

Re: fuel injector question
not Bad mine pulled 366 rwhp and 362Rwtq
that was the Problem i had with mine WE ran outta fuel in the highe rpms .
i would say get the larger injectors if your going to get further into modding the truck .
The stock injectors won't support the Procharger
the kit out of the box put down too much boost for stock injectors
was the 358rwhp Completly stock ?
I have the RC injectors because expensive but not i won't run lean ..
Ben tickner Went Lean I'm sure and her lost his #7 cylinder ..be careful

You should work with Ed Wright to come up with a solution. He can calibrate bigger injectors for you but you need to email him and come up with a plan.

Re: fuel injector question
your fmu clamps off the return line more and more as boost increases, thus raising pressure. i think your injectors are like 24# or so. anyone else chime in on this one. i made 374 rwhp out of a little 4.8 with 8-10#'s and never had any fuel issues or detonation. definately beware of the cursed #7 cylinder. i eventually blew a hole in mine when i cranked it up to 6300rpm and 12-13#.

Re: fuel injector question
Thanks for all the info guys. That run was with the truck stock except for a 3" magnaflow. I had a Volant, GMAF, and HPPIII, but had to ditch it all when I got the ProCharger. I have the stock 3.73's in the rear.
