Default Adding FI to engine w/ 50k miles, bad idea??

I thinking about selling my heads and cam (and other stuff) and going with a used Votech or ATI.

I don't drag race. The car is daily driven and might see an open track (road course) event once or twice a year.

I am tired of piddling around and with bolt ons, better heads, new intake, different cam and result in about 400 rwhp.

If I can sell my ported heads, cam etc. and get a blower for a good deal I figure I'll have at least 450rwhp with headers.

What do you all think?

I know some will say save you money for a motor. I can rebuild my own engine and I'll be installing the SC, if go that way.

Also I am sick of this local Viper guy running his mouth.
If you are interested I can post a link of that too. Quite humorous.

47K, put on heads & cam. 49K, put on Vortech V9. Get a good custom tune and use plenty of Octane.

I have also been wondering this. I am at 90k and planing an ATI soon. Is this a death trap? The car still runs awesome, beats newer SS and WS6's with more mods.

With 90K miles, the rebuild will happen sooner rather than later, especially if the car has been run pretty hard up to this point. Just keep that in mind.

I already have ARP head studs, so hopefully that would help.

I put a used Vortech on my LS1 @ 48k. No problems so far and if you pay particular attention to the tuning your stock bottom end will hold up just fine. Not to mention you don't sound like you beat it to death so that's an even bigger PLUS in your Engine Longevity!. I'm the same with my car. I rarely beat on it. Might floor it occassionally when traffic permits but overall it's my daily driver and having the Blower has been great!.
