How much boost can this setup take?

Default How much boost can this setup take?

I asked this on ls1.com as well. How much boost can JE flat top pistons with 2cc valve reliefs, stock rods, arp bolts, arp head studs, and 6.0L heads with 2.08 x 1.60 with 77cc chambers take on pump gas. Assuming tuning is dead on.. Also, with race gas how much more could I up the boost? Let the guessing begin..

i'm assuming that's a stock cubed motor, or atleast within the 3.91 bore limit.

You'll be about 9.2:1 CR with the general SWAG's for a stock cubed motor.

You should have no problem going to 10 or 12 with that on 93 octane. It's a bit more CR than i've got, and i've gone to 14psi on 93 with no more than 20° across the rev range.

Straight 110 or c16 you should be able to go into the upper teens or over 20. On 110, i can go to 18 without problem <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

just my .02 based on what mine has done

Thanks Harlan.. That is exactly what I wanted to know. 10 to 12psi is what I was planning on running, but it is good to know with proper tuning I could go to 15psi or better on RACE GAS.. I know what heads I am going with, but I have not decided on single or twin turbo. I am sure I would have to change cams. My cam is more suited for nitrous and it might have too much overlap for boost..
