blower/piston questions I am not really an expert on pistons but I have a few questions.
1. If I were to lower the compression ratio with a new set of pistons to 8.5 what other parts would I need or would definately be important with a turbo i.e. piston rings and how much boost can you run safely with 8.5:1 compression?
2. What do the different types of pistons mean I.e. flat top? Which is the best kind for a turbo?
3. How much would you expect to pay for instillation of new pistons. This is something I am definately not experienced enough to do myself.

Pistons
New rings
New bearings
I'd also do new ARP rod bolts.
You will need to remove and dissasemble the shortblock.
The rotating assembly will need to be rebalanced.
Most aftermarket pistons are .005 so you would need to hone the block out for oversized pistons.
I'm not sure, but the labor for all of this could be in the $1500 - $2000 range.
You could run a ton of boost, I'd say in the 10 - 20 psi range.
