Default setup questions

98 Trans Am m6 w/

383 w/forged internals,ls6 ported intake

s2 heads

blower cam

sq trim supercharger 10 psi (or some kind of turbo setup at 10-14 psi)

stage 4 clutch

built t-56 w/ cags, and pro 5.0

carbon fiber driveshaft

12 bolt w/ 4.11 gears

all rear suspension parts (tourque are, panhard rod, lower control arms, rear end launch springs)

stock height front end

17x9 et streets (when they are issued)

possible 100 shot of n20.

what kind of times do you think this setup would make, with a stripped down(no padding, a/c,other extras) t/a the same weight reduction made 3145 lbs in similar car. w/o driver

what would be better, supercharger, or turbo

would nitrous be ok with this setup(turbo)

what kind of milage do you get with a 383(i drive alot)

how much psi could i really go with with forged internal 383

thanks

Default Re: setup questions

i have decided to go with the turbo setup

i want to use t-76 turbos, and have the setup custom built

how much psi(i know i asked this before) could a properly setup 383 take (i want 10-18 psi, and more if possible)

what do you guys think?

i will not be using n2o so what kind of power do you think it will make?

i heard a few rambling about the 383 making 450+
hp?

im wanting to go 10s with a m6 do you think it will with the full setup and a good driver?

are 4.10's too much for a power adder car?

if so i might stick with 3.42's or 3.73's

Well how much boost depends on your CR octane and tune.
with 8.5:1 you could probably get away with about 15psi with a CR of 9.0:1 about 12psi

now a 382 will make some good power with boost so you could make as much as your wallet will take you. Im making 512+rwhp with my little 348 and hope to be up to 600rwhp soon (all on pump gas).
Harlan is making 700rwhp on his little 348 also with race gas.

if you get your cars weight below 3200 like you talked about you should only need about 500-550rwhp to run high nines low tens. and about 650-700rwhp for a full weight 3800lb car

It will be fully tuned, with a whole new fuel system and computer setup

I dont know too much about turbo setups, but i know the minimums that I will need, I need to find a guy around st. louis thathas a turbo car that i could look at if at all possible

with a turbo will I need race gas or will 93 work?

thank you

you can use 93 if you tune it to 93 and have a lower CR
