Default 10.3:1 CR too high for a blower?

Am considering adding a supercharger to my set-up. Planning on 5-6 psi max.. Mod's. are as stated below & CR is already 10.3:1. Looks like I have found an inexpensive Powerdyne head unit & can handle the fuel management, PCM mod's,...etc.. I don't know the calculation as to max. effective CR & think it's in the 12.5 or 13:1 range. Anyone know what the effective final CR will be if this is done & is it worth the effort? My impression is that adding this blower may be worth 50 to 75 more HP on the current set-up.

Thank-you.

No problems with your compression other than limiting pump gas boost levels. I run 7lbs on the same compression every day without a intercooler of any kind (Whipple). In the summer I can tell you that's max on pump gas for AZ., in the winter I could prob. run 9lbs if I really wanted. I get a lot of KR during the summer also but it mostly depends on gas quality and driving conditions.

With your current mods you can easily get 100RWHP but you'll probably need more than 6lbs to do it.

Thanks for the reply. That's just what I wanted to hear. 75 to 100 is enough for me.

Considering that many people run blowers on Z06's which have a CR of 10.5:1 I can't see what the problem would be running 10.3:1.

I'm running more boost with higher CR on my LS2 Goat. OTOH, I don't have to worry about turning my goat into a pretzel at full throttle [although I do see you have SFC's]! That Miata must be ready to sprout wings and FLY!

Adding a Snows Performance water/methanol injection package will

1 - get you even more power at a given boost if tuned in properly
2 - dramatically reduce risk of detonation for a very modest investment
