Default Finally got the engine running right but now.......

So after removing the head to take out a broken exhaust bolt i assembled everything, installed new plugs (tr6's gapped to 32), and installed new plug wires(i am running LT-1 wires which work like a charm to keep them away from the manifolds). I started the car up and it ran pretty good (definitely noticed a better idle from replacing a couple of bad plugs). I took it out for a little test drive and wow what a difference. I could actually have the car make some power (not much but some). I then took the car out to a tuner to help me get a nice starting point and he gave me some tips on tuning the fuel map as well give me a good starting point for the timing. The next day i get some buddies together and we go tuning. Everything went well (was getting a steady AFR to the max PSI which was like 8.6 on a 7 psi spring)until i burnt through a plug wire (one of the wires was resting on my manifold) and then the evening got progressively worse. The pinacle was when i couldn't disengage the clutch. I called it an evening and limped the car home hoping i had just boiled the fluid and would bleed it in the morning. Oh no it can't be just a bleeding issue because at this point i have no idea what the problem is other than that i think the slave somehow broke (although every part of the drive train, minus the driveshaft and rear, is new).

So as it goes i keep going one step forward and like 5 back. I really hope i get this thing right because i leave the country in a little over 30 days and 14 of them i will be out of the area and i am running out of money. At least i am sorting out the issues but i have a few remaining like my oil leak and now this. I would love to hook up the boost controller eventually and see what it will put down but i am afraid i may not even get it running right before i have to put it in storage.

good to hear you got it running right. do you think you'll have it tuned before you leave?

The tuning is probably the easiest thing to do at this point. I have a wideband and a megasquirt so as long as i have someone to enter numbers i will be fine.

30thT/A: I suggest that you buy some LT-1 wires instead of trying to use the stock wires. I use the longer wires for cylinders 3,5,4,and 6 and can run them away from the manifolds. I also have valve cover spacers so you may or may not have to worry about that.
