It's not the height that is causing the problems with it not fitting under the hoods being used for the maggie, it is the width. The buldge in all the aftermarket hoods are not wide enough. KB has had to fab their own extra wide raised hood to clear this thing. The hood is pretty massive IMO. Expect basic kit prices to be north of $6k.

So, even if most 700+ hp modded vettes had an aftermarket hood (which I don't think is true), they too would still have to get a new hood to fit the KB.

I'll see if I can get Jim Bell on the phone today if he is at the office. We spoke a couple months ago, and they were in the process of dyno-testing the C5 prototype kit. Results were very promising, over 500 rwhp on a stock C5. Time for an update perhaps.

Well maybe not all hoods would work but some of the cowl hoods do. I remember them talking about this subject on Z06vette.com and they said some but maybe not all cowl rise hoods would work. But KB has made their own hood for this setup already. Can't find the pic right now but it is out there.

Not likely to see it anytime soon, trust me, I've been following in for a year since they announced it. BS! Also, the hood that comes with the kit looks like a re-entry shield for the shuttle. Picture the maggie hood and add about 4-6" to it. I went with an STS kit and am glad I did....now if my motor would hurry up and finsh so I can install...
