Default 16" procharger Fan?

Hi ,
I am about to install my Novi 2000 on my 01 SS,
I have to buy the procharger Fan shroud and a fan

I want to get a realy good fan, i heard the one procharger supplies is not that great.

What one should i get and will still fit into the procharger Fan shroud?

I also might mount a super thin 14"-16" fan on the front of my radiator.

Please help me out
Thank you

I had a procharger fan....w/ my procharger. But I went dual pusher fans with my turbo set up and I have found the pusher fans do a better job cooling even with the turbo behind the radiator.

I'd go Dual Spal fans if you have to spend money on a fan.

Did you get your custom bracket for the head unit yet?
If so where did you get it from?
Does it have a spring tensioner?
Where does it mount the head unit?
How much?
Pics?

The Spal Fan your looking for is the 16" Spal Extreme 30100845, check ebay you can get them for under $200, usually go for $299. For the shroud call ATI.

He is probably talking about the Flex A Lite 240's. I have tried both the pushers and the Spal Extreme 16". The Spal works better for me in Florida.

I got your PM man.....this is exactly what I have: Dual FAL 240's

Easy to splice into your stock wiring and worked better than the single procharger fan.

IMO the biggest problem is the shroud- it blocks off half of the radiator making half of the radiator useless. That does not help things. I think the best idea is the addition of a 9" puller in the drivers side of the shroud as described in this post below. Be sure to measure for clearance. Good luck with your new set-up!

how muh is that Flexalight 16" fan that pulls 3,300 cfm

I think i am just going to install the Procharger shroud with a 16" fan , and put another thin fan in front of the radiator and wire them stock
How do you think this will work?

And yes our radiators are way to small, GM did not put a big enough radiator in our cars

It's hit or miss. For some people it works for some not. You'll probably be fine as long as you don't run the A/C on a hot day and/or idle your car w/ A/C on.

I think the shroud is much more of an issue than the ATI fan or the size of the stock radiator. Good luck with it!

The SPAL 16" Extreme fan (3000 CFM) is a direct bolt-in and uses the same mounting hardware. That's what myself and another local Procharged guy swapped to.

I think Ed got his at a local ORW (Off Road Warehouse), and I got mine from an internet hotrod shop.

Thats correct, got mine from ORW. I have not had anymore problem since installing that fan and the SLP radiator.

Depends on clearance...if the stock shroud & duals fit, or if you can make them fit (by moving the radiator forward) then you don't need the ATI shroud

Lawnboy,

Let us know what kind of numbers your running when your done. And Please put up a video or sound clip when your done as well. I would love to hear how loud that Novi is.

If it works well for you, I might go that direction as well. I love my D1SC...but it a little loud for my taste.
