Thanks Jose, we are trying to stay away from the GT42 especially in the tight confines of the LT1 engine bay You know how it is to put anything in there
650rwhp is the target.

If that is the case, then the 76GTS will be the unit to have. You won't find a unit that small and make more power then it.

I'm sure most longtime turbo folks grit their teeth at some of the questions they get, but that's because many folks are just now thinking about turbocharging a given combo and subsequently picking parts can be a real crash course for most.

Packing twin T4 60's or 66's would be easier than hanging a T6 big turbo in front of the engine think. The big T6 stuff is the size of a turkey roasting pan.

Some of the turbos like the GT42 and S series units are not to big. Its the big boys like the TV series and GT47 and GT55 which get really big. Twin T60's will work with most setups indeed.

Cool, Figured it'd come down to the 76GTS for its packaging size and power.

Just wondering, but how does a GT40-67 or GT42-74 work on a stock LS1 looking for around 500-600 rwhp with long term plans of hitting 700s....

Figured that from looking at some compressor maps....from what I can understand of those crazy looking things

Just don't wanna go too big if I realize 500-600 is good enough ....but who knows, I got plenty of time to think about it

I still don't understand why folks on this board think 76mm units are big. Heck we run 76's and larger on Supra's with half the cubes...lol. With a 346 CI engine, their is no such thing......you still are making big power off boost...hehe

A 418 is a serious engine indeed. We have a pair of units that would work though. For 675hp you don't need anything huge, thats for sure.

Jose, acording to your site, the GT42 T76 is rated for 1200hp, so it should do 1000rwhp right?

All depends on pressure ratio. On smaller motors it will make ~1000. Big cube engines will not make that much since backpressure will superceed compressor output.

What do think is a reasonable max on a 383ci engine? 900rwhp?

That could be squeezed (850-900). Backpressure would be stratoshpheric though.
