Default Anybody with "blower" experience?

Has anybody ever set up a cogged belt for a supercharger "blower"
Im wondering if theres a problem with just having an adjustable idler pulley or should I go with a self adjusting tensioner?

I like and prefer the self adjusting tensioner but that's just me.

I have seen the Cog system on mustangs. I have never seen one for an LS1. I have a procharger myself and am looking at getting the SDCE kit which from what I have read is a good system.

A cog setup runs with much less tension than a serp belt and the belt is usually much heavier. So the tension might be high just sitting there but a spring loaded tensioner might not be able to control the belt at high speed hence the manual adjustment.

thanks for the help. This would be for a twin screw charger on my ls1 in my 73 camaro. So... I was thinking of just adding a cogged pulley to the ATI dampner, adjustable Idler pulley and then the blower pulley. I would then run my altenator off the 6 rib serp belt on the dampner. It would be alot like the belt routing on the BBC or SBC with a big roots blower. Just wanted to know if theres any reason not to do it that way.

I have a bad *** cog setup on my ls1. There are two guys up at Hardcore Racing in Flint, MI (myself and a friend) which converted to this new setup that HC-Racing implemented. It's pretty sweet. I can post some pics later if y'all would like? PM me if you have any other questions. However, I do know that this setup is the SAME PRICE as the SDCE belt tensioner. Numbers will soon be attained.
