Bob(EPP) or anyone else-10.7:1 c/r and boost question
your compression is too high and you are running the wrong kind of cam. at most maybe you can run 4 lbs of boost. you will detonate. you won't be able to run hardly any timing... not worth it.
throw the kit on and find out for yourself if ya don't believe me.
Your compression is high for a blower but there are a bunch of boosted LS1's in that territory. Pleanty of Z06's run 5-7 psi and make over 500 at the tire. Don't sweat your cam. While its true that many FI cams have a lobe sep of 112-114 deg you're not talking really much overlap in terms of degrees. How much airflow do you people really think is going to go out the exhaust with 4 more degrees of overlap?!! Anyways some chamber scavenge is benificial to power production and the effect lessens with rpm. The wide lobe seperation rule is really more for roots blown setups anyways that make boost at low rpm.
The LS2 responds favorably to supercharging as well and has a static compression ratio of 11 to 1.

i know im running somewhere near there(completly stock motor) and im doing 9lbs on 93. look into a meth set up.
someone correct me if im wrong on the compression
I ran 12-16lbs of boost on my between 11.5-12:1 compression motor. Ran bad *** too!!
oh yeah.. It blew up though, only because it needed more fuel and I tried to tune it myself.. No tuning Experience at all owned me, well that and instant wheel spin to the rev limiter. The motor was built with Manley Rods, and some custom flat top pistons. Motor had aftermarket heads and cams.
Oh yeah.. This was in a 98 Cobra.. Little bit different... But seriously change the heads.. You wont regret it! You could get away with 8lbs on a good tune and just make sure you always keep good gas, etc.. in it.
Centrifical superchargers do not need the low compression ratios found on turbo and positive displacement supercharger equipped engines. I would start out with a 4.00" pulley, figuring on your cams profile bleeding off some boost. I think I have several in stock at the shop. Bob

this post made me laugh out loud.
