LS1 Vortech owners inside I have a 1993 Z28 that I just swapped in a 2002 Ls1 out of a vette. The questions that I have is what is the hood clearance. Can you put a straightend from the weatherstripping on the farthest from the bottom plastic piece below the w-shield to the front crossmember? Will the blower or aftercooler go any higher than that? The reason being is that I can get a deal on a vortech aftercooled supercharger setup for $2500. But I want to know if it will work becuase the lid setup from the ls1 will not even come close to fitting under the stock LT1 hood. Also I was wondering how the fuel system hooks up to the engine. I have a set of 1997 corvette fuel rails becuase of the LT1's return system. Also do you need to get the car tuned when installing the blower. Thanks. Also what is the max boost possible. It is the v-9 kit.
