how much boost
I think MightyMouse lost his engine to a failed meth system too. It works but I wouldn't rely on it especially on a motor you spend thousands on.
The above statement is just like running methanol injection. If you dont design correctly, and provide layers of protection... you will fail period.
On any forced induction setup you need to be on top of your tuneup.. if not.. bad things will always happen. Tuning a blown motor like if its a 68 Camaro with a 327 and a Holley.. wont cut it.
Simple line of defense.. have a visual like a wideband guage.. motor starts to lean out... pull out.. else your gonna hurt. Fuel pumps go bad, injectors can clog, PCM can have a glitch, injector sticks, etc.. tons of stuff can go wrong and blow your motor up. It is the responsibilty of the driver/racer to keep tabs of whats going on.. and with that catch any potential problem.
Here's an example..

Or have a system that fixes the tuneup on the fly.
I rely with blind faith in what I do.. but it has taken 3+ years of R&D to get it here.. There's a lot more than meets the eye when it comes to this..
I'll stick to Applebee's for burgers.. theyre much better..
I used a AF guage to make sure I was OK to spray when using Nitrous. It was never used an indicator that the motor was going to blow, because you just don't have the time to catch it from watching the guage. It will just die.
Now, with the Nitrous I also ran other systems to help keep the car from grenading. Same thing can be done with a Meth system but it's just dumb to spend all the money to make the Meth system work safely, when it could be spent on an A-to-A IC.

Let alone run those boost numbers on 93 octane. Cooling is one issue, octane is a totally different issue. You will not gain any octane benefit period with an IC. If you cutout the whole front end, maybe see 30-40 above ambient.
That is why alcohol injection is what it is.
Alcohol system ~500-600 bucks. Whats an IC go for $$.
If you have never run a "proper setup".. careful on the advice. The net is full of mis-information. A trico windshield washer pump hooked to a nitrous nozzle activated by a push button makes an alky system. Not a very good one
I like to see motors tuned on straight pump gas and make huge power.. getting taken rite to the edge.. its an accomplishment that takes planning. But doing so always means your leaving something on the table when it comes to making power. Especially with forced induction. Either timing is pulled, motor is run fat, etc.. Having octane.. those limitations are now lifted.
Bottom line is what it runs.. and how long its been running. Making 1000 RWHP on a dyno on straight 93 and melting down the motor on the first pass down the track becuase it didnt have enough octane is pure foolish. Becuase the convenience store put 87 in the 93 tanks

I run a boost gauge, and a fuel pressure gauge. If either do something funky, I get out of it.

All he has to do is dump in some ice if he plans to make some ***** to the wall runs at the track.
