Default Mthanol Injection, IAT Sensor, and MAF Sensor

I am going to run methanol injection on the turbo setup I am building. Were do most people with methanol injection place their IAT sensor? Also, this question might be better suited some were else, but, does anyone know how much straight pipping length needs to be before and after the MAF sensor in order not to throw the reading from the sensor out of calibration? On mine I have aftermarket ends on it that do not have screens. From what I understand, the screens are there to cut out any turbulince that would make the sensor reading inaccurate. If I place the sensore right behind a 90 degree bend or right infont of it will that bend cause the sensor to read inaccuratly? Thanks.

I have Mine setup AirBox with IAT-----MAF-----Meth Nozzles-----TB.
As for the MAF I am running with a descreend unit but going to go back to the screen. I can see how it might help in a NA situation but with FI I think it would be a plus to keep it, just to help straighten-smooth and direct the air. On top of that it will act as a last chance filter, forbid any thing would let loose up stream of a turbo or blower.
As for MAF close to a bend I would try and get it in a straight section if able, or at least go back to the screen.

Interesting question on placing the IAT sensor after the METH, I would like to know,as well, never thought of relocating.????

If it were relocated after after meth would it not help with more accurate control vs always reading a much hotter temp.??????

I am definetly not a tunning pro. This might be better posted in the programming tunning section. But what very little bit I know from looking at my LS1 Edit, I would assume (we all know what that leads to ) that if the computor wants to know the actual IAT as it enters the manifold in order to set the proper timing adjustments for that air temp. But like I said earlyer, I realy do not know anything about tunning threw computers. It might need to know what the air temp is going into the MAF Sensor in order for the MAF reading to be acurate. Anyone that programs got any good advise on this one? Were would the programers want the sensor to be placed?

Yes I love my Meth setup you did Chris... Again looks awesome!!

I have thought about having the IAT sensor after the Meth Spray.. One place I believe could be placing the IAT sensor on the back of the intake for my Weiand Aluminum intake.. My Meth spray jets are only 1" away from the TB blade and it sould be almost impossible to place the sensor aft of the Jets..

Also not to mention. I really don't see the point as the IAT sensor would mostly adjust the timing curve, (add timing) for lower intake temps. Also you'll only spray Meth when at WOT and my tune is locked in at a specific timing curve around 18 to 20 deg advance.. Having the IAT sensor after the Meth spray would read the lower temps, however the timing is already locked in..

Just my 2 cents...

Some people have re-located their IAT sensor AFT of the Aftercooler for LS1 vortech Superchargers.. The regular Vortech setup has the IAT before the blower (reading the outside normal non boosted air).. People have stated their car is running better now that the IAT is reading the "true" temps of the air coming into the motor with the IAT sensor just before the TB. They are seeing no KR like they did before..
