Default Evap question on 2002 Turbo Z

I have a 2002 Z-28 with the PTS turbo kit and I have a ? about the Evap system
it keeps triping the SES light and I dont know what is wrong
I have removed the AIR system and I left the vaccum line that runs to the Evap solenoid it had another line that ran to the air valve or what ever it is and I put a cap on it
the SES light keeps coming on and the car smells like gas when the tempature is cold outside
this is anoying
I have HPTuners and could deleate it I guess but I would rather it work right

It should not smell like gas when cold. get me a pic. I wonder if you capped off the wrong line.

it does it the worst under hard Accleration (SP?)
I will try to get the photo in the morning there are only 2 ways it can hook up and I have tried both it goes from the line on the Evap solenoid to the air thing that I removed and put a cap on it
when I swiched it last night to see if it was wrong it would only show 5 inch of vac, when it got to normal opperating temp
oh and I do have a check valve in this line so It wont see boost at all
only vac
and I checked it and it is the right way
