Unhappy ATI Crank Pulley driven me nuts

A buddy of mine put on a an ATI P1SC Kit on his '00 TA. The damn crank pulley keeps working loose. We've tried everything including a med-strength Locktight. Bolt still works it's way loose....I'm out of ideas...kinda of a poor design...I wish the balancer and S/C drive pulley were one piece. Love the kit...hate the crank drive pulley. Before ya'll ask...the pegs are against the stops and is seated correctly...checked it everytime. I also have the correct bolt that came with the kit...we keep ordering new ones because I thought they were stretch-to-yield....or am I wasting money? Any help would really be appreciated.

Are you sure the bolt is not to long and bottoming out. I seem to recall somewhere with the 6 rib you need to cut it. I could be wrong, never went with the 6 rib, jumped right up to the 8 rib drive system. It is the full unit and drive pulley in on piece like you just asked. It can be rather pricey but well worth it for not having the problems you are having now.

Get with Bob at EPP he can help you out with what you need, either to get you 6 rib working or get you into the 8 rib drive.

Mine did that **** all the time too at first - I put on the ATI crank pin kit and the pulley has stayed put ever since. Definately worth it for the peace of mind.

Absolutely correct, the supplied bolt can indeed be too long. Cut .38" off of a new one, and install it with loctite. Or, upgrade to the $350.00 8 rib upgrade ATI ProCharger kit, which requires an ATI Performance Products $450.00 harmonic balancer to make it work. This balancer gets keyed to the crank so it can't slip, and the ProCharger pulley bolts to the balancer with three bolts. Bob
