Junkyard Turbo

Hey,
Has anyone bought any old turbos (rear) from junkyards or really cheap ones and set it up on their ls1. I am just wondering how succesful it was , post some pics of them.

Probably not worth the time, effort, and additional $ needed to do the project. You'd also have to look at turbo size, a/r ratio etc. Just too many variables.

By the time you do all the work to turbo your car correctly, buying a junkyard turbo won't make financial sense...

Check out turbomustangs.com The guys over there are the kings of junkyard/DIY turbo setups. There are some seriously wacked out setups over there. True MacGyver style

Theres another site too for fbods thats made a $1K setup work with a truck turbo from a junkyard. I think he broke 400rwhp with 5-6psi and ran it for awhile with no probs. i think it all depends on your DIY skills

the twin rear mount sn95 mustang one is pritty cool. i think its right after the h-pipe and he turned those wannabe break vents into intakes
