Does the pin kit not come with any directions at all? Can you guys email them to me as well? I hopefully will be getting mine from Bob@EPP by the end of the week and I'll need directions. Thanks.

Dan
Remember there are 2 versions of pinning kits. One from the side and one from the end. If you got yours from Bob it is more than likely the side pin. If you need help or questions. I can help you out.

I ordered one from Bob yesterday.. well hopefully I did, I haven't received a call about the order going through yet. I didn't know there were two different ones.

Hopefully I get that pin kit before this weekend so I can install the Procharger.

Anyone have a prefferance to pin kits? Any reason one may be better then the other? I was looking at the setup i think from vortech, that drills from the front and slips a pin between the crank and balancer lenghtwise.

I like the pin from the side.
Few reasons, with the pin from the end it might be hard to reinstall a dampener that has already been drilled & pinned. Being the tuff part be tough to line everything back up in the same spot for correct alignment, so that the pin can be reinstalled. Without having to force it back in. Your not going to be able to keep a eye on the alignment while pressing it on.

Vs

The pin from the side, start the dampener on the crank with the pin in the key way, and press it on. Seems like a much less of chance for something to go wrong. Basically the same process of a keyed crank snought.

To add I think the pin from the side would be much stronger.

From your reasoning you actually like the pin from the END version as your descriptions for the (2) different versions are mixed up.

The pinned from the end verison is like a keyed crank, and the pinned from the side version would be the one that is hard to properly line up the holes upon a R&R of the balancer because you won't be able to see the hole in the crank as you're installing so it will be tough to line them up.

I do agree with you that the side pinned version is probably stronger...

could we please call it "pin parallel to the crank centerline" and "pin perpendicular to the crank centerline"??? LOL.. this end/side stuff is misleading.
