just do a compression test first.

Do a leak down test it will show more accurate results..........

As stated do a comp test first. Then have the turbo pulled apart. If you need it serviced let us know, we can help. A ticking noise is strange and not typically something you hear a turbo doing.

Just realized I never finished this thread, blow off line was pinched and caused the turbo to surge (or maybe leak pressurized air out of something), once I fixed the line never heard it again.
