Well, that settles it then. Assuming they put the engine where it's supposed to be (under the hood and not the dash) we're all gonna have to buy new Camaros if/when they come out.

We're gonna get raped on the resale of our current rides if we all try to sell them at the same time.

lol good point.

well i must say. i really am impressed with that torque curve. if this fits... then this might be another option to consider. how much work other than some cutting is usually required in making these types of s/c's fit in an fbody? ive never really looked in to it.

your normal stuff other than cutting.... the kit has an air to water cooler, so thats a pump resevoir and lines.. then you have to mount the blower (cut the cowl) route the belt, then just your normal FI stuff... fuel, injectors tune, etc

on a side note, isnt there a difference in pulley spacing on the vette vs f-body? How is that adjusted?

I think the Vette pulleys (stock) stick out more.

Has anyone tried lowering the engine within the engine compartment to make fitment easier? I dunno if that would work or what; maybe if you had custom solid mounts shorter and angled correctly. Is there room underneath the engine to lower it w/o it hitting the k-member?

I'm sure it could be done but there is very little room between stock k-member and oil pan. Not enough to make it worth the hassle I dont think. Plus you would have to lower the trans crossmember, hindering ground clearance and it would also throw off driveline angles. I think clearancing the cowl is the way to go...

I have been told now the kit has been delayed another 3 weeks. We will have to wait for the dimensions. As for a Covette vs f-body accessories. I believe the Corvette accessories are closer to the motor.

The attachment is from Street & Performance. The balancer on the left is from a Corvette. The others are longer.

Will a Corvette ballancer go on an F body motor? ie any clearance problems with the water pump or front cover? I'm running my own home made pulley setup so I can adjust the accessory pulleys to line up with anything.

I just picked up a manifold the same as the one in the Forced Air kit http://www.forcedairtech.com.au/genkit.htm

I'm bolting an Eatom M112 from a Ford lightning to it and I'd like to get the blower as far back on the manifold as possible. It looks like the belt on the Corvette pulley runs closer to the block than the F body motor.

Cheers

Michael

I was thinking that lowering the engine might be a possible way of getting it to fit too. If worse comes to worse the only way to make it fit may be to cut the cowl and then either lower the engine, or cut the windshield. I would be dropping the engine if this were the case. It would be a lot of work.

As for me, this is looking like a great option for the 68 Camaro I'm planning to build.

I am putting blower in 1969 Camaro and I lowered the motor about 2 inches.

No kidding - wow!

It'll never happen being that they stopped making the car 4 model years ago and there's a really limited market for it, but it would be nice if someone made an f-body kit with a similar blower. You know, a kit that outlines what exactly you need to cut and how and where and something to cover it so it looks finished and not ghetto.
