Thanks guys, coolest thing is I bolt the prostars with DOT QTPs rears and 8 ply sportsman fronts on, bolt the passenger seat in and I was driving around for 3 hours today in 85 degree weather with the t-tops off. Used up almost a full tank of gas but this car is fun to drive around town so its hard to put it away I'm getting bored though so maybe for sale or get parted out soon..

Nailing it on a highway 50 times is what kills the mileage lol. I dont put a ton of miles it on the street really so I dont want the extra weight of a GVOD or 4L80, plus the 3.70 with 28" tall tires isnt bad at 60-65mph.

I swapped hatches late last year (only the last 2 passes in the vid have the formula hatch), mostly because with the seat down low and the roll bar the T/A spoiler blocked most of what I could see out the back. Plus the Formula hatch is 16lbs lighter, plus I dont think the rear looks a tall with the formulas spoiler.

Unfotunately Tom its worth more in pieces I would probably keep the motor and do a tube chassied early nova with the procharger and powerglide. I think it would make a fun and reliable 8 second bracket car..

Hard to even say Kyle, I wont get what I want so I may as well use it this summer and see what happens. I may just do the cage, BS3, lighten the car up a bunch over the summer and see if I can get it in the 8s in the fall. If the cage ever shows up

1/2 the vids were a crummy Cannon 8mm camera I got from amex rewards and the last one was shot with a newer panasonic digital - way nicer then the analog.. Used windows movie maker 2 to capture and make the video - low buck as you can get

Awesome vid Kev. Seems like you all enjoy the "family track days". Anyways, best of luck this year.

Car looks good, looks like its been running pretty nicely this year too. I would keep the car and just make some changes at the end of the year, that car and you seem to make a good combo, like a good luck car.

Ha, my wife says the same thing, car has treated me well and it seems to like me lol. There is so many easy things I could do to make it faster but the car is in a good place now, still can drive it and its still plenty quick. Just hard to stop going quicker with drag racing stuff, it was a lot easier when there was no internet, if you were quick at a few local tracks you were happy..

Its a choice between a fairly useless street/strip car and and a fully useless race only car - dont know if its worth half a click of a second hand on a clock to me anymore

Maybe after the move to VA ill have the time to hit up the track.

I'd sell mine for 20 but no would pay that, last year with the old motor I would have sold it for 15 at the end of the year and I maybe could have got that.

My goal isnt 8s really, my goal is to get the car to run the best it can with the parts that are on there. Whatever it runs it runs, I have had a couple 8 second cars but none of them drove around as nice as this one or were even capable of being driven on the street at all. For me putting a 10pt cage in the car makes it unstreeatable so thats where my line is drawn. 15 years ago I would have just gutted this thing, put the bigger pulley on and been in the 8s with no roll bar at all. But for now I'll just keep it low 10s with the occasional 9 second blast to get thrown out of the track

Like this?

If I had the money, I'd either put a big single, or a Twin 67 LSx setup in this car, with a 4l80e behind it and drive the car everyday

The right buyer should pay $20k for your car. Couldn't build one that nice or fast for $20k........that's actually a good price.
