25:1 DCR???? Your motor would have blown up before and had MASSIVE detonation. If you were close to 10:1, I could see that.

Sucks to hear that about the old motor though.

You would have thought so, The engine was making 10:1 CR and I ran 14-16 lbs of boost all day with no problems. The 822RWHP was made with 16psi, the first time, but when I had it on the dyno, we had made some modifications and power went up and boost went down to 14 making the same number. so with the mods, and 4 more pounds that was more than the engine could deal with.

Is the GM intake and custom plenum clearing the stock WS6 hood? Also, how is the GM intake in relation to heat soak, as opposed to the composite LS6?...I know it's worse....but exactly how much worse?

As far as clearence, no problem what so ever. In regards to cooling that is a great question. Based on the design, I would imagine it would not be a big deal, If you look, Air can move around it above and below. Now we all know the nylon intakes get warm, and some even hot to the touch depending on how crowed it is, but with this being aluminum, and air being able to move all around it top and bottom, I would imagine it will not be a big deal. Not like the Lingenfelter Aluminum one for sure. I would imagine it would get warm, because of it being a blown application and the more air I push the hotter it is going to get, but I would not imaging a couple of degrees more than the nylon. We will be testing that once I get it started. Still waiting on the exhaust.

I would also like to see your air filter setup for your F1C. I am installing my F1R on my Firebird next month and I am in need of getting an air filter of some kind on it. Is there any other things needed to be done to get the larger blower to fit?

Do you or your engine builder have any concerns with using stock sleeves in your LS2 for this new application or no?
