Is a T72 too small for a TTi kit?

Is a T72 too small for a TTi kit? I looked at the compressor map and it looks like the place i want the turbo to be 6500 RPMs with 7 psi on a 346 ci is to the right of the efficient area, however, by the time the turbo reaches 6500 rpms the intercooler and intake are pressurized, so technically its not that important if its not that efficient at 6500 rpms because it will only be at that rpm for a short period of time before shifting. Is this correct?
