Default How to choose a BOV

So I have been reading around the board, and BOV manufacturer sites, and I cannot figure out how one rationally chooses a BOV.

That means not by sound.

Do you choose one based on PSI of your system, diameter of the diaphragm (how fast it releases air), or something else? Does it matter if you have more than one turbo, or just the volume of air in the system?

Or does it really not make a difference? I don't believe that, because on the race apps people are using huge *** WGs as bovs. So there must be something to that.

What's the deal?

yes u are right usually big turbo applications need big wastegates etc because obviously a small wastegate on HUGE turbo would not do its job very well....

but generally speaking most pple on "average" boost applications just get bov's directly because of the sound they like most..yea there will always be a small diffference from one ot ther other you lose 1 hp here you gain 1 hp there. but yea sound is what most pple go for

besides either way you look at it, many of the BOV's out there are adjistable and will work with different psi levels...so you can beasically mix and match the BOV.... now wastegate, thats a different story u need to be sure of what wastegate size will effectively work on ur setup if not im sure something will go wrong...or if you raise the boost later on down the road the wastegate probably wouldnt be capable of handling that increase...it all depends & sorry for the novel im sure someone will elaborate alil better i cant explain stuff real well when type it
