Oil ?
only mine was caused by the dip stick popping up
I check my wiring and the pressure switch for the pcv diverter
valve had a loose wire on it. I think it pressurised my crankcase
for a sec and caused the oil dip stick to pop out. better
it did that than blown out a seal. IT REALLY MADE A MESS
and smoked when the oil hit the exhuast manifold!
which side was wet with oil under the hood? passengers
or drivers? mine was on the pass. side by the dipstick.
or maybe your divertor valve vented some oil under the hood.
the divertor vavle when under boost does vent to the
atmosphere under the hood or it might be excessive blowby
happening even though you have a new engine . that really
doesnt mean anything... Excessive piston ring clearances
will allow your crankcase to see more boost than the sts pcv
system can handle. it might be time to do away with the pcv
system or alow it to flow more or use a catch can !
some one did a write up on the catch can idea on here.

You can't see the other side Inlet Filter or Catch Can fitting, but they are the same as this side.
Obviously not an LS1 but still applicable.
When I bought the Canton Racing oil pan, I had them put 2 extra 1/2" NPT bungs - One for blower drainback and one for breathing. At the front of the pan, because when you are really building cylinder pressure (acceleration) the oil is sent to the rear of the pan and doesn't get oil in the vent - very little oil comes out of the oil pan breather filter:
Now I see almost no crankcase pressure, which is really good for the ring seal, and I have enough case ventilation to move up to a YSI head unit for the track.

turbos are definatly not for everybody! even as simplistic
as our kit is i think the pcv system could be upgraded
with either a larger eletronic valve or do what he did above!
