Default Tuning?

wanting to get 600rwhp....but i want it to be safe as possible. running stock rails, and lines but have mototron 60s and racetronix plug and play. i mean how safe is that power on that setup. what should i do for tuning? is speed density better than using the maf? how much timing can i get by with, 15, 16, 17 or what. if af is 11.0 all the way across on the dyno should it be ok on the street? or should i tune it richer. just dont want to trash this new short block. i want reliability, i know thats funny, so i dont have to worry about it. is it a reality to have big power and peace of mind while driving it on the street. i have been 2 years or better in this build. some of it my fault and more of it others. but any advice is great. please feel free to let me know.

by the way the shortblock is completly forged from top to bottom, gt7 cam, ported tsp heads. t74 turbo on a 1.0 ar. and a good ole obx intercooler. stock pcm and maf

Just to be safe I am going with a complete forged 8.5:1 346. Full areomtive fuel system. Rails, A-1000 pump, regualtor, -10 feed lines -6 return, Motron 60's, the works. I am also gonna do a 2bar SD tune. I want to be super safe with my setup. I dont have the $$$ to do it twice. I am looking for 12-14lbs of boost out of my T70 and 550rwhp. I just want to be safe as possible.

600 rwhp will not pushing the new shortblock at all, but you will be maxing out the stock fuel lines and fuel rails. You can do it, though. I'd keep the maf, and tune it for a 11.2/1 to 11.5/1 air/fuel ratio. You should be able to run 18 degrees of timing without any spark knock, on 93 octane fuel. Bob

IMO, do rails and a boost referenced fuel pressure regulator, lines will be fine. Start timing off low and watch for knock. I would probably end up at 11.5-11.8 a/f ratio and 19-22 deg timing at peak hp (3-4 less at peak torque), as a guideline.

And I believe the only correct way to tune a turbo car is speed density.

Above 600 rwhp, I would run a -8 fuel line and two pumps. Bob
