Default Boost reference (fuel regulator) for STS...good setup?

Took the car to the dyno today. 426RWHP (SAE)/ 438RWTQ(SAE). Not too bad for a tune in progress and 5lbs of boost.

The biggest thing I saw was that the fuel is adding long term enrichment (goes back to needing to create a better part throttle tune). Anyhow, the car was initially at 371RWHP. The HP dropped off at 4700RPM and the entire curve was a bit shaky looking. I turned the fuel limit off with HP tuners and instantly went up 50RWHP to 426. The HP curve was more consistent and was actually still climbing at the 6K pre-determined "cutoff" point. A/F was measured at a max of 12.0 to 1 on the dyno wideband, though only at 10.6 to 1 on my AEM wideband. I have 42lb injectors, but they are cycling about 17.4 at 4500RPM and above....so they are working hard in the upper RPM range.

So....verdict is the injectors are having a problem fighting against the boost pressure to deliver the juice to the engine. I was going to add a fuel regulator with a boost reference. Any good suggestions on a setup for this? Any work with the stock fuel rails or will I need to change those out too?

I figured this Q could go in either FI or fuel section....but I'm asking specifically as it pertains to my turbo setup.

Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks.

As far as I know the stock pressure regulator is in the tank with the pump. So if that is correct there would not be any way to regulat from outside the tank. I hope others can verify this cause Im not positive.

I always recommend one for any boosted car.

you will need to remove the stock regulator so while your in there may as well upgrade your pump and kill 2 birds with one stone.

I've already upgraded to a Racetronix 255gph pump. So.....back into the tank, I guess? Related Q....where in the stock regulator in the tank? I wasn't paying attention to anything but the fuel pump and it's little bastard connectors that didn't want to switch over the last time I was doing work there.

A '97 vette rail has an integrated fpr and return line built-in. You could leave the integrated fpr in place (to fill the hole) and also hang an aftermarket fpr in the return line.

Just the stock fpr may even give you some boost referenced kick on the fuel pressure. When I get mine on the road, I'll be checking on how much more fuel pressure I get under boost. I'm running a '97 vette setup on my '98 Camaro. (previously a v6 car so it already had the return line plumbed all the way to the tank...)
