how does a 2 step work. (i'm new to some of this)

and in your signature what is the difference where you talk about the trim and the 2 different dyno numbers?

also my STS kit will be here in about 1 1/2weeks and I have kooks longtube headers 1 3/4 and catless kooks y-pipe, otherwise stock.
did install 3.73 gears...

i will see how things go

hey zombie here is some more data for you. i took my car for a 45 minute drive at lunch. when i got back i took an infared temp guage and checked both lt and rt headers - averaged at 280-290 degrees. at the collector for each header temp was at 275. at the y-pipe single pipe temp was at 270. then as it went to the borla stainless steel is where the big drop came. only 12 inches from y-pipe temp was at 170 stayed that temp all the way to turbo. car was at idle with ac on . im going wrap y-pipe back with header wrap and try to keep heat loss to a minimum. if anyone has an infared thermometer and get a reading on stock exhaust manifolds i would like to compare the temp.

Unless you are dealing with the same material all the way or know the temp of the gas inside the pipe, it's tough to figure out whats going on. Stainless does not transfer heat as well as mild steel, that could be the reason for your reduced temps (it retains the heat in the gas instead of transfering it to the atmosphere).

Y2KHawk would be better at explaining the 2-step as he designed and built them, but the basics is it causes (at a RPM set by you) your motor to skip or not fire random pistons causing late expansion of the exhaust simulating load.... in short, it allows you to come out of vac and even build a little boost from the start line helping you launch harder and get into and remain in your power band longer.

The 60 trim vs 67 trim are different turbo sizes... T-60 vs T-67

With your 3.73 gears... I would be very careful not to blow your back end apart... I see a 12 bolt or 9" in your future. I run a Moser 9" from Driveline solutions in mine.

yeh i know about the rearends
ok gotcha about the trims.. i for some reason was thinking it was somethin else.
hopefully the 10 bolt will hold up, i haven't abused it and don't plan on it. but torque can do things...

what tracktimes did you run with the 60 trim turbo?

11.6 was the best I got with a t-60, I had never ran with a good set of wheels and skinnies... that would have helped.
