Stock T56....and praying it doesnt break.

The 145.14mph saw me pretty much hit 7000rpm in 4th.

Surprised it didnt start to hit the rev limiter, as the soft cut is set to start at 6950, with full cut at 7100rpm, as I had never expected to get that high.

Its also spinning the blower a little harder than it should be.

What gears are you running? You know that some of the Mustangs guys are going 160mph with the YSi. Maybe I should not have sold mine.

You should have seen how much you could have pushed your combo before switching, your car probably had a 9.0 in it, with spray or meth maybe even touch 8's.

I'm currently on 3.55 gears, spinning blower with 8.5" crank, 3.0" blower.

The new MT DR's will be a little taller than the Nitto's I was using, so that should help a little with gearing.

I might swap back to 3.27 that I had been using last year, in an attempt to hit 150+ but I wont be worrying about that until this winter.

I'll race it a couple more times this year, and see how it goes with the MT DR's assuming the T56 holds up..

I'll also be swapping my intake for a Victor Jnr over the winter( if it ever arrives ) Dont really care if it makes anymore power, I just think they look cool.

Next event is at an airfield, but the surface is good. Also doing standing mile runs, so that should be interesting. Very unlikely I'll hit 200, as yet agin, that will require about 7000rpm in 5th, and now way would it pull 6th ( circa 4600rpm at that speed ). But I'm hopeful for 190+ Last year I could only manage 183mph at 1.25 mile distance from standing start, but I was only trapping 130-134 then, so Ive a lot more power now.

Belts are still my achilles heel. My 4th run last weekend shredded the belt I was using ( German made "Optibelt" 12 rib, although they feel very soft compared to a Gates belt, but I cant find a Gates 12-rib )
Im sure this failure was down to an inadequate belt though that just stretched and stretched, although there were no signs of slippage. Unfortunately when it shredded it took out part of my wiring loom, causing it to short and melt. I was quite lucky though, no major damage.

I want a strut brace, and I'll drop down to a 10 rib Gates. if that doesnt sort my problems, I'll go cogged.

Wasnt there a post recently, where Pete ( Plan B ) and CAPA's drag car ran somehting like 8.6 @ 158mph down under ?

No comparison to my build, as its engine is nuts, big iron block, huge cam etc and race fuel....and its obviously a lot lighter, auto and on slicks, built purely for drag racing.

My engine is also a much more conservative build, and runs on pump fuel admittely injecting meth too.
