Default 700+rwhp - LS2 vs. LS6

Currently I make over 700 rwhp w/ stock non-ported LS6 and ported TB. I was given a LS2 intake - I'm wondering if it's worth the money for the 90 mm TB to get any gain. I run 13psi and AFR 225's and its a 410 ci. I plan on running 16psi as soon as someone gets BS3 and stock guages working, which no one seems to be doing.

i say the 90mm tb/intake will help out more based on flow numbers and pure plenum size difference.

Or sell both... buy Sheet metal intake and Victor Jr.

Good post... I havent seen any side by side flow numbers of the LS1, LS6, LS2, LS7, Victor Jr intakes. Would be good if anyone had the numbers though!

Is everyone with the "stock" throttle body running a stock LS6 t-body on an LS6 intake? Or is it an LS1 t-body on a LS6 intake? Everyone says "stock" but im not sure which they mean?

Stick with the LS6.

I did a bunch of testing with the LS2 intake and different throttle bodies on a supercharged vette 346ci at 15 psi (711 HP). Guess which one made the most HP........LS6, ported TB.

The only thing the LS2 intake and larger TB accomplished was the 'drive through the garage door' syndrome.

My friend is doing an LS2 intake, can you use aftermarket fuel rails with it with regular injectors?

I don't believe the ls2 intake will give you any gains because you'll lose air velocity.

sell it.

If u lose that much velocity by going to an ls2 intake sounds like u need to buy a procharger!!

The consensus seems to be that the LS6 manifold is superior to the LS2 manifold; and that the 90mm TB is superior to the 74mm TB. I don't have a supercharger, but do have a TPIS-modified LS6 manifold that has a 90mm LS2 TB. It is a nice mod that is almost non-detectable, and the cost is much less than a FAST/90mmTB. TPIS estimates a gain of about 18 rwhp over the stock LS6 TB.

01 why don't you try it and report back?

I'm thinking you will have less restriction, maybe make more power at the engine and less boost.

For a 410ci I would use the Edelbrock intake. It does gain power over the LS6 and evens out the cylinders.
