Did the shakedown runs last night. Running only 5psi with a basic hp tuners tune at only 17 degree of timing up top and 20 degrees in the .6 area with 60lb injectors.
The car friggin' screams. It pulls so hard in 4th gear. I'm changing out my 4.11 gears for some 3.42's so that should help out with getting full boost sooner in the lower gears.

I want get the long term/short term fuel trims set and then start going up to 7 psi while adding timing slowly until I see knock then backing it off some.

I'm just now getting into the game, it's so much fun!

Hey there! Yeah, I want to get the fuel/spark tables nailed this weekend and then bump up the boost a bit. When it's all done I'll dyno it and see what it makes.

It made 421 rwhp N/A and it feels much stronger after the TT install.

Have not started on mine yet. Gathering up some gauges and misc stuff.

I'm actually using a digital picture camera that only takes about one minute of video if the memory stick is empty. I'll try to get a quick compliation of some WOT shifts and a shot from another car of me pulling away.

Wow, bad *** man. Few questions...where is your IAT sensor? Did you T off the brake booster for your BOV/gauge? where's the damn videos already?

It doesn't have a BOV. The internal wastegate pops between shifts. Sure sounds like a BOV.

I tee'd off the intake manifold. where the fuel vapor canister hose normally runs. (driver's die behind the throttle body.)

I finally got it on the road last night! Vidoes will follow this weekend after it's tuned up correctly.

From what I remember reading you'll want to install BOV's eventually. I can't comment on if they are really needed but the conventional wisdom on this site was they were. The Incon mule car had dual 25's installed if I recall.

my a4 car never had BOV installed. With approx. 60k on my center sections, Blouch turbo said they were in excellent condition. Of course we are talking apples/oranges a4/m6.

Really just log it and see if your AFR goes wacky bad during shifts. I hadn't thought about the internal wastegate factor, but would like to see what you think, and what the computer thinks.

Great job Joshua. I was a fan before the car was FI. Shiny and fast...you can have it all!

I think you're talking about a BOV being in the wrong place (having it between the MAF and throttle will cause the problem you are discribing). Not having a BOV on a M6 is hard on the turbo. The noise you're hearing is the air in the intake track backing out of the turbo (not good for the center section and may shorten the life of the turbo). Other than that it shouldn't mess with the afr of the motor.

The Incon mule has dual BOVs mounted on the injector bosses.

Looks like an awsome set up. I cant wait to see the vids and numbers

I myself would never run a turbo car with out a BOV/s. When in full boost and the throtle plate slams shut (durng a shift,or let off) the boosted air has to have somewhere to go,it exits into the turbo and stresses shaft. shaft is spinning at somethin like 40,000rmps and all the sudden is stopped u can imagen what kinda ware it will put on it. The more boost the harder it is on the turbos.
if only running 5psi of boost, the turbos may last years with no bov, but higher boost levels will shorten the life of the turbos.... just somethin to think about
