No and no...all it does is interrupt your firing...it is totally safe, just do it already!

The way I understand it is, you get spark every OTHER cycle instead of every cycle. So...instead of it firing every cycle like it would without the 2step, it skips every other cycle, creating the load which builds boost...

like this..

Spark:
2Step Off: fire, fire, fire, fire, fire, fire
2Step On: fire, , fire, , fire,

And as you can imagine, this process contributes to a lot of unburnt fuel, which somehow causes the load...

If I am wrong, someone please correct me...

Do you know if Synergy's 2 step has a timing retard built into it?

Okay I called the shop up today and they told me I had to run a msd ignition to run the msd 2 step. They said to run the 6a msd. But they make a msd btm. Since I have a sts turbo should I still go with a 6a??

if you are going with the MSD setup I would get the Digital 6-Plus Ignition Control - PN 6520, that is what I had and it worked very good...

I think he's missing the point though... he said he's running cats with the STS... and he still wants to run a 2-step... BAD IDEA. Raw fuel into the cats are gonna cause MAJOR problems.

Anybody have any idea how much one of these things runs from Synergy?

Any word on Harlan's new design? I emailed him in march and he said pre orders would start in April.

It seems to me you would really want to have the timing retarded to put extra load on the engine to build more boost. If I reatard the timing in my tune at that given rpm, then it's going to be a dog at that rpm all the time. regardless if I'm on the 2 step or not. It might be more benificial to hold out for Halan's unit if it does retard the timing.

I've hit a few bugs along the way, and had prior commitments that needed to be addressed first, but it's close to being complete. 4th round of prototypes is due in soon, then I can get a final assembly quote and pull the trigger.

options for timing retard, multiple limiter settings, soft touch limit selectable, plug-n-play, harnessing, etc

Trust me, I'm as anxious to get it out as some folks are to get it.
