When I box a C38 up with the complete oil system it hits 19 lbs on the shipping scale.

Are we talking just the drive assembly and not a complete truck system?

Everything about the C38 series is in this data sheet from Rotrex:

http://www.rotrex.com/pdfs/Rotrex_Te...Range_V1.7.pdf

They claim a range of 400-630HP and 952cfm for their largest unit, the C38-81.

Their effective, boost-producing range looks like it is 60,000 - 90,000. Other than their high internal step-up gearing, they are just a centrifugal blower, and will not deliver any more low-end boost than any other centrifugal.

As soon as I started tuning my Vortech V-2 S-trim on my 383, I knew it was too small of a blower. I can only get 7.5# after the FMIC and throttle. Since this Rotrex is even smaller, I can't believe anyone with a 350+ cubic inch motor is going to be satisfied with the setup. Maybe with 2 of them... but then the complexity goes way up. IMO, you should look for a correctly sized blower from the get go.

That was my exact worry... only being able to get 6-8# max out of this blower with a FMIC.

I've had enough of the N/A power, with my last round of mods and tuning I managed to eek out a hair over 400rwhp and 370rwtq on my H/C setup. That's just not enough power for what I want to do, and if I stayed N/A with a stroker 383/396 I might be able to see 450/420 out of it... but again, that's just not enough. So I've commited myself to the forced induction route, and here is what I'm after.

383/396 c.i. with a rpm limit of 6000-6250, peak power to come a few hundred rpm below the set redline limit. Horsepower range to fall between 575-675 to the wheels, with as much torque off of idle as possible. By staying in that power range, I don't have to go crazy on a fuel system or injectors, and can almost get away with my current fuel set-up. I'd love to see torque higher than the horsepower number, but I have a feeling that will only happen with a turbo, and if that's the route I have to take to meet my goals... than a turbo it is. I was hoping the Rotrex would fit my application, as it seemed to promise a larger area under the curve as far as power is concerned, but it seems as though it will fall short of my ultimate power goals.

In a perfect world I would just buy a Whipple or Kenne Bell screw-charger and be done with it.

W2W Powertrain's moto is "When everyone else tells you "it can't be done", give us a call".... Well how about it W2W, can you make a Screw-charger fit in a F-body???

50 shot off the line makes a centri work well IF you are looking for 1/4 times.

I enjoyed looking at the W2W cars on the HRPT, but twin centris just doesn't make sense to me. Look at a D2 blower from ATI. That will move PLENTY of air.

The ATI blowers are very nice and make great power. They are not perfect for every car. In the Nova we wanted a sleeper type car, this required silent operation and tight packaging leaving the ATI out. We sell many ATI superchargers for race cars and cars that don't mind the noise, they work great.

I guess that means "No" concerning the Screwcharger?

I don't mind the blower sticking through the hood, actually I think a black cased Whipple or Kenne Bell would look pretty sick poking through the hood of my car. I'm not concerned too much about the cowl either... chop it up all you want, just make sure the hood shuts and the wipers work.

W2W - Can you make it fit??

I know a few BWW guys that tried the Rotex and didn't like the results on a 6cyl. They ended up going with a whipple kit of some kind and it stomped the Rotex from a dig roll ect..

But the Twin screw didn't look very BMW under the hood and the Rotex looked nice.
