Installed the SLP unit. Happy with the out come. Direct rplacment. Have a buddy that has the BeCool works just as good. Did take up a bit more room, when it came to his inlet hat for the blower.

With my low comp 402 the stock radiator wasn't keeping up to my liking even with a 160 thermostat and lower fan settings. I purchased a used LT1 radiator (93-96). The SLP rad is nothing more than an LT1 radiator with the lower heater core hose and coolant level sensor ports blocked off. I saw a good improvment with the LT1 rad in 100+ temps. I do plan to upgrade to a BeCool or other radiator that is two core next spring after I install a turbo for added cooling capacity.

I've just recently installed an OEM LT1 radiator scored brand new from Ebay for $97 shipped. I've seen a 15* drop on operating temps while driving around and 10* in traffic.

The radiator also came with the block off kit for the heater core provision used on the LT1. Everything else, including the low coolant sensor placement, is identical.

If you can afford the space you can get a universal fit radiator like Griffin 25272 radiator which is 2row 1.00". Everyone has a version like this wether it is be cool, fluidyne or afco. All the universal fit items are basically the same 15 fpi and close to the same in pirce. Best bet is to check for availability. Griffin also has a single row 1.50" rad that is a little more then the LT1 or SLP rad and uses 18fpi. Since the new owners have stepped in we are no further out then three weeks.

The SLP radiator is an LT1 radiator. I had one for 6 months & it started leaking water to the ground AND the tranny cooler! SLP said too bad, buy another one. So I dumped it & bought a Be-Cool. FAR superior product!!! Basically the same unit as an LG, only with a tranny cooler instead of an oil cooler.

And my blown stroker motor runs as cool as my cammed stock motor used to. It does have a clearance issue tho, since it's a full 2" dbl core unit. I had to remove the AC conndensor & move the bottom forward to clear the s/c inlet hat. Well worth it IMO!

So the fluidyne for the LT1 will fit just as the stock LT1 unit would for a 02'?

Word the LT1 Fluidyne radiator will fit! I talked to fluidyne and just as stated above just the heater core block off needs to be done. BTW this is a awesome quality radiator.
