Fan settings for boosted engine?
When my ECT is around 190 - 200 F everything is fine, no KR.
Around 220F it starts to pull 3-4 *, especially around 3000 rpm and 0 - 1 PSI of boost.
At WOT it's OK, it's just when it begins to get boosted
Timing at WOT is 17* (it's the original Vortech timing table).
AFR without alcohol injection = 12.5
AFR with alcohol = 11.8 - 12
Alcohol starts to be injected at 2 PSI
It seems to be a temperature issue... is it possible?
Or is it a matter of AFR?
Or should I inject alcohol at lower boost levels?
The actual fan settings are
stage 1 ON 219 - OFF 212
stage 2 ON 227 - OFF 220
Vortech installed
stage 1 ON 193 - OFF 187
stage 2 ON 200 - OFF 193
With those settings (and a lower temp 'stat) the fans are always on in summer. Only in winter they stop from time to time...
Because it's a daily drive I'd prefer to keep the engine pretty warm, but I don't know if it's realistic because of the blower.
Thanks! - Stefano

yep... the daily drive stuff make things more complicated!
Have you noticed an increased KR level at high temperature?
I forgot: spark plugs are Champion RS 12 PYP (#7401) gapped at 1.05 mm (0.04")
They are a little colder that stockers, with platinum tips and looks fine (colorwise).
