Question Innovative turbos

Just go a recommendation on turbo sizing and pricing from Innovative. Most places I called recommended anything from 60 to 62mm turbos(twin set up), all standard bearing (non water coooled). Inovative recommended twin 70mm, ball bearing, water cooled. Could this work? Does anyone have a simular set up? Will it be streetable? (I told them this is a street/strip motor)

Here are my goals - 800 to 900 flywheel hp on 91 octane. The motor is a iron block 402ci with 6.0l heads. 8.5:1 comp. LS6 intake. Engine rpm in the 1200 - 6200 range. What would you recommend?

Im wanting for a "package price" from Innovative, but these are very expensive pieces (turbos & wastegates). Is it worth the money? I dont mind sending extra, if its worth it. I only want to do this once, than drive the **** out of it!

Thanks for your input - Ron

I would go with a twin 60-1 or 61 mm setup, non ball bearing. I really did'nt notice a difference in the ball bearing versus regular. 61 mm turbos are rated to 680 hp each, you surely don't need larger then that!

Innovative told me that the ball bearing type will reach full boost sooner. Exp. Standard bearing start boost at 3000 - full boost by 4000 rpm. Ball bearing start boost at 3000 - full boost by 3500 rpm. Do you see this in your car?

Talked to Innovative today. They told me that 61mm would be better. They thought I wanted 800-900hp to the wheels. They also said because Im running a M6, the ball bearing would be best. He said they last longer, and wouldnt slow down as much between shifts. He said ball bearing turbo wont make more power, but you will have a better power curve. Any thoughts?

Ball bearings are better but is the small benefit worth all the extra money is the question? I personally didn't see the worth in getting ball bearing turbos. I was also advised by speed inc that it wouldn't be necessary. It will spool 400 rpms sooner but that's it. Good luck on the set up!

Give us a call. We have used many ITS units. They work great, but some options are not needed. Also they make 2 options of DBB's now.
