Default getting there w GT47-88, #'s inside...

friday night it went 6.358 @ 110.45 on 16.5psi, 15deg indicated timing, (probably more like 13-14), not bad for a 3900lb pig on stock suspension!!! a few questions:

1. how are the 7 and 8 heat range plugs holding up for you guys on the street?

2. what's this i'm reading about anti-surge being less than desirable?

3. can anyone give me streetable truck coil dwell figures to be using in the 20-25psi range? (will the coils overheat)

4. BS3 cam sync. anyone? anyone? i've got a conservative number set for the crank reference, set 2deg conservative but i thought this BS3 unit was supposed to do crank reference automatically?

5. I'm running an ultimate converter in a TH400, stall speed is 2600 no boost, 4000rpm full boost (16.5psi so far), i just installed 3.73 gears and am seeing 110mph come in @ 6300rpm (my conservative rev limit) with 29x10 hoosiers. how the F*** will i ever get it to MPH in the 1/4??? i'm thinking 2-series rear gears???

any other suggestions would be appreciated, the intake charge temps @ 16.5psi were 78 deg fahrenheit.

the fastest it went EVER with a shafiroff 555ci 950hp crate motor, and 275 shot in this car was 9.73 @ 147.5, with a 6.32 1/8th mile, so i'd like to think i'm there finally! it's got so much left in it it's seemingly disgusting. PS i've been driving the **** out of it in town and it's holding up nicely!!!

Shoot Mightey Mouse a Pm about the BS3 questions u have...

Now on the gears...... your way off.... never gunna happen with a 6300rpm rev lim.
I have 3.73's and there coming out.....
About the same size turbo and i run a 28" tall tire and i have a 7000rpm rev lim and i tap it the last 150 ft...... 150.5mph.....
Time to lower thew gears...... those 29"s your running give u about 3-5 more mph over a 28" tall tire but that depends on other things also.

Stock cam? Sounds like a nice combo, I have the same turbo going in a 98 Formula. I've already gone 5.999 with the ol' YSi so I'm looking for a bit better.

find mechanical tdc and put a temporary pointer on it

hook up a timing light and set the cop to whatever value it takes to get the timing value you read to match the timing value you command.. make sure you are warmed up etc. and there is no timing correction and the commanded is a stable number

You can see my pointer, as made by Speed Inc, in this pic of my old blower setup:

here's a pic!

PSJ: it's actually a tame cam motion hyd roller that i bought on here used!!! 230int/220ex .585"/570" 116lsa... it sounds like a clapped out pickup truck around town, once it reaches about 2lbs of boost it sounds a little more serious...

FYI i did the timing thing using a solid copper wire as a pointer to set COP reference. what kind of timing numbers are you guys running at different boost levels?

so far i've only had the ***** to have 15deg. timing and 16.5 lbs boost, but every degree of timing gives it 1mph in the 1/8th. are any of you guys hitting a wall with timing?

93 pump gas only?

I have been reading of a lot of guys doing mid teens timing on pump gas.

When I was blower, it was 21 degrees of timing with race gas.... perhaps a conservative tune but I we did not want to find the limits of the combo.
