Tee'ing off the brake booster line? What are yall using to tee the booster line? I have looked EVERYWHERE and cant find a 1/2" T fitting. I need a 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/4. Hell, I cant even find a 1/2 T. |
went to TSC (tractor supply company) and got a 1/2 T ( has 1/2, 1/2, 3/8 but they had 1/2,1/2,1/2 in stock too). I then had to get 3/8 down to 1/4 for the bypass. |
you could use a brass T with the appropriate sized barbs, they have them at all hardware type stores. |
Carl, I was in the same boat. Could not find a 1/2" T. I actually was able to use the port on the intake where the factory PCV goes. If you want I can shoot you a pic. I was also a little hesitant to cut my booster line for safety reasons. |

The pcv port uses a 3/8" hose, and I found quite a few different T options at the local NAPA store for 3/8" hose. I got some T fittings that worked out real good for what I needed. Just a thought. |
I was going to use the PCV for a vacuum source undle idle or light throttle while using the inlet to the turbo as the main vacuum source. May change up some. I didnt think a 1/2" T was this hard to find.. |

Thats what I need the T for... guage, BOV and wastegate. I was going to use the PCV port as a secondary vaccum source at idle. |

OK, for the brain dead today :jest: CV = check valve The fuel filter is just that, I got a clear plastic fuel filter from NAPA (3/8" nipples) to use as an oil seperator. It keeps from sucking the oil into the intake manifold when not in boost. The check valve is there so that during boost you don't pressurize the crankcase. My check valve is just a generic PCV valve, again from NAPA. Just be careful, some PCV valve have a pin hole so that they don't completely seal up. You want one without the pin hole. Your wastegate signal come from the port on the compressor housing. I think that is the same for all turbo systems. And yes, you have it right LS6 valley cover -> catch can -> turbo inlet At present I have no FPR, so not an issue. That is why I may end up changing things later down the road. |

That will give you a better reference and a true boost reading since you drop pressure running through an IC or such. |
Hmm, you are right about the pressure drop. Why do the instructions say to use the compressor port? That might explain why I am seeing 5 psi on a 7 psi spring. |
I just stuck a small barb right in that honker of a hose and then smudged some RTV around it. |
