Nope. It has a plate on the backside of the pump with 4 rubber mounts, so that no vibration noise will be heard once secured properly.

the purpose of the reservior is to allow the oil to collect and sit then be pulled..

we tried on my set up just runningthe lines directly to the turbo but it smoaked...when oil is moved to quickly it tends to foam..

the resivor on my car was made a bit larger then others mines 2x4 in the shape like an l so its like a sump.

and its vented

I have always been told to not use anything smaller than a -8 on the drain lines. I guess your resivor is doing ok for you.

He has a -10 an between the turbo and reservoir, which is where it matters. From the reservoir back it's not nearly as critical b/c the pump is sucking it out, as opposed to the traditional gravity drain style.

what does 3/8 translate to? -8an? I was thinking about downsizing mine to 3/8 because of how the pump is setup and the fact that I already had 3/8 fitting coming off the turbo.

I run 3/8"pressure hose out of the turbo into a Mocal pump and 3/8" hose back to the valve cover...no smoking ever..i dont use a line restrictor or a one way valve..the Mocal was noisy at first but now its not even noticable[remounted].

Yes, exact same pump. Different labels. Rebuild kits fit both.

Sounds good. Ill just leave mine.

FUroundeye i'd order a tilton off summit for the free shipping. They should be available. And considering theyre the same design as the mocals you should have long pump life.
