Default What size turbo for a V6 'maro?

Sorry not exactly LS1 but still fbod related. I need a turbo that will net at least 300+rwhp on a 3.8L with relatively fast spool. This is purely a street car. I have a T60 for it currently but wasnt sure what turbine A/R and compressor A/R to look for. Will a T60 be too big?

This is a STS rear mount application

Just get a smaller turbine housing and it will do very well. We used a 50-1 with a .64 on a 4.3 and it spooled great.

Only a handful use the T70...
...dependent on what you want. I will talk to vendors and individuals to get a feel for turbine A/R...

Thanks guys.

Tiago i saw you made 335/400 with the TO4. What did you end up keeping the t61 or the TO4? The goal is around 350rwhp for this 3.8. I figure pushing it past 8psi will ruin the auto tranny. I figure the rear end will hold. Tune and proper fuel are already set.

Should I go with the t61 like you had and up the boost. Looked you made good with 290/375 from just 5psi. Where can I get these? Ebay is mostly junk.

edit: watched it again and saw your runnin the MP T70 (Specs/Spool?). Think that would suite me well with stock heads/cam? Owner just wants the STS kit and a stock top end on the 3.8

The MPT70 is the best turbo I have employed on a V6 car. It fits a stock motor great!

I found a few more options. How do these sound?
all are master power turbos. Looking for good spool on a rear mount app and around 350rwhp at less than 10psi.
TO4E 60 Trim P-Trim: turbine A/R .70, Compressor A/R .50 (T3 inlet)
TO4E 60 Trim P-Trim: turbine A/R .68, Compressor A/R .50 (T4)
T61 O-Trim: turbine A/R .68, Compressor A/R .70 (T4)
T70 P-Trim: turbine A/R .70, Compressor A/R .70 (T3)
TO4E 57 Trim: turbine A/R .70, Compressor A/R .50 (T3)
T4 vs T3 important?

If not ill just go with the mpt70 with .68 a/r

If you have a V-6, you have enough room in the engine bay to put the turbo where it belongs.

no joke, tons of room there to do it right.

Tiago makes a mean set of turbo manifolds for the 6 banger too if I remember right...

The sts kit is already set to go for the most part. He didnt want to mess with headers. Is there a link to tiago's kits? Ive tried in the past and the only site said under construction. What kind of price are we talking?

Still interested in how the above turbos will work. Particularly these:
TO4E 60 Trim P-Trim: turbine A/R .68, Compressor A/R .50 (T4)
TO4E 60 Trim P-Trim: turbine A/R .70, Compressor A/R .50 (T3 inlet)
TO4E 57 Trim: turbine A/R .70, Compressor A/R .50 (T3)

Tiago-what do you need to do to the motor to get that hind of power out of a v6?

and what can a stock v6 handle?

never broken one due to boost yet. Highest Ive gone is ~450rwhp on a stock motor on pump gas with the kit shown above. Takes 15 psi from the MPT70 to achieve that. I think thats marginally the limit, if you have a conscience. Timing is ~12 degrees, and pump gas can only be used so far unless you don't care about blowing stuff up. On race gas, I wish somoene would let me experiment
But I think we could squeeze ~600 rwhp out of it on 116 and 20 psi. They are stout little motors.

Tiago can you PM me with a kit price. The goal here is 350rwhp so were probably gonna shoot for 10psi or so. Ive been following your kits for a while on that bad bird site, good stuff. If you can throw in a few details on your build with that PM ill pitch it to the guy and see if he wants to go front mount route. thanks
