KP, I'm so glad to see you're picking up some speed with your new mods. I know you've often kicked yourself for jacking with your mild setup than ran so well last year. It's nice that all your hard work this year with exhaust, cam and other upgrades has paid off. Every time I think I want to go turbo, you keep pulling me back to a Procharger, LOL.

I knew it would run quicker eventually, problem was the first time I was out this year was a 50 degree, 30.4 barometer, 40% humidity day in march and the DA was exactly zero. So I added 150lbs with the battery, roll cage, tubes in the slicks, 5/8 studs, ultrabell and other safety stuff and then the weather got hot and that was that. So it took the cam and exhaust just to get the car back to running it was at the lighter weight/better weather.

The DA calculator always said the car would run 5.87 @ 117-118 at sea level with the new cam/exhaust and it was 960' yesterday so it still corrects to that same number. Even though I knew it would run better in better weather its sometimes sucks to sit and wait..

David,

I have no plans at all, maybe take out 200lbs or so and do a better intercooler and try for 8s next year with a D1/346. Its paid for if anything

Feels pretty slow after 250 or so 6.2 and down passes last couple years lol. First 100 feet is pretty cool but after that its like driving a stock mini van on a freeway entrance ramp

Thanks Kurt, one nice thing through all year is I never had to worry about the engine. Never even gets the oil dirty after 30 passes when I change it and after 150+ passes and three sets of slicks it runs as well as the day I put it in - hard to beat that.

Congrats KP. Your car is a perfect example of a car with well matched parts, and great setup. There are many cars with a lot more money in them that don't run as well. Well done.

Your car has always been fast to me, I'm more impressed after watching the vids. Damn that car launches nice and smooth, no drama, perfectly level. Sounds wicked going down the track. You have done some nice chassis/gearing/converter tweaking!

I think you tuning and caring for the engine properly makes us look good. Nice to see you having so much fun with it.

Yea, most people cant believe what it runs. Around here its a pretty fast car..

Well, I really dont drive it much anymore so I guess its really not a street car, even though its still tagged and insured. But it is a more then streetable engine combination that could run the same in a stock car with a good trans and rear end. I dont have any fancy suspension parts and all the safety stuff offsets most of the weight removed. No reason anyone else cant make a 9 second 3500lb street car with the same simple parts
