What shortblock for a turbo project?
What shortblock for a turbo project? Well I have decided to go with a turbo for my ls1. I want to buy a forged shortblock for it but don't know what size to go with. Would a 383 stroker from texas-speed be good or should I go with something like a 370.
It all really depend on what kidna money u have to toss around. If u dont have much then get a forged LS1 with teh stock crank. If u have a litle more then get some aftermarket cast heads to help with teh pressure. If u ahve alot of money then get a 408 and good heads. It all really depends on what kidna money u have to sink into it all. They are all capable of making wayyyy to much power on race gas. On pump the bigger the engine the more power u will be able to get outta it with 93.

well I just look at a forge Iron block 408. It was a around 4300 and the 383 stroker I was looking at was like 3400. I think I will just save up a little bit more and go witht the 408 since I just read the post about the 408 with stock heads putting down 920 RWHP. What type of heads should I go with and what cam also?

New 6.0 block, Eagle 4340 forged 4" crank, 6.125 Eagle rods with ARP rod bolts, Wiseco pistons 4.030 bore, Childs & Albert rings, Federal Mogal and Clevite bearings, ARP main studs.
LIne bored, cylinders bored and honed, rotating assembly balanced, decks checked, file fit rings, and assembled. This also includes drilling and tapping the hole needed to bolt up the accessory bracket.
$3600.00 no core required.
Lead time is 2-3 weeks. Lunati crank available. Depending on your heads, JE or Diamond pistons may be substituted for the Wiseco.
