Well, IT HAS BEGUN!!!
But to make this post kinda on topic, those hot parts look amazing, dare I say first class. Is that the kit from OFI? If so I'm beyond impressed. OFI make a twin turbo kit!!!
anyways, sorry kyle, but the drivetrains will consist of a 4l80e, a top-gun driveshaft form Spohn, and a Strange 12 bolt with a 3.42.
We actually just finished that discussion.
When the s91 was announced, we were gonna jump all over that. However, considering that the s85 was already been built, we decided to keep the s85 and see where this lil' s85 will take us. If not, the s91 is built of the same mid-frame size so if the s85 falls a little short which is like saying that a million dollars can't buy ya a c6 z06 for every day of the week, then i'll just rebuilt it for a 91mm.
question, you think the s91 is a better match for a 408ci motor? I know i would like to go bigger just becuase, however, i want to see how well or soon this turbo gets into boost before moving on. I really dont want to rev her past 6500-6600 rpms.
Gotta love all the above statements. I don't think anyone has really tested all of the new S series turbos back to back against each other utilizing the same bottom end and intake to determine which s turbo is the best? An S85 probibly has a better power curve than an S91 for any situation needed. TMO
I think you will do 9s EASILY. I will of course post up my carnage/times from Sunday...should be in the 13-17psi range sunday
I wish i could post some comparisons with ya but gonna have to wait. Been thinking about the turbo exhaust outlet and DP thing and i think i might do what you did.
we'll see.
good luck brotha!!
52172: My thoughts exactly. I think the single s85 with 408ci is a goo combo that isn't pure track.
However, i haven't run it so time will tell!!

Im lucky that i eventually got another DD so i can be without the vert. until she finished. Acutally, i think im going through some withdrawal. Have been looking for other projects or another toy to mess around with when this one isn't even done yet! Got my eye on the new 07 CBR600RR.... that bike is sex on wheels!!
anyways, thanks.... she is almost done...well, hopefully!
I luv that bike!!
Actually, i saw this the other day when i went to miami dade kendall to do some lab hours with my GF...

I really like the blue/silver and white/silver. Different color schemes that really look good. OF course the black is the hotness, but those two colors are grea!!!
Got some more pics of the paint process. The guy at extreme are doing a great job!!! They have practically taken the car apart and painted everythign individually. Also, they have started over because some the parts, the color application wasn't to their liking. Perfectionist i guess..
Anyways, glad to get some more pics, i needed these!!!!
here ya go. Car is primiered and ready for final coat(s) The under-hood, which was never painted correctly and not even cleared, as well as the engine bay, have all been sprayed nicely. Also, the under-trunk lid was done nicely as well.
Well, enjoy!! Car is moving, motor was mocked up... i think i may have a quick pic of that... not complete but a little preview!! buhhhahahahaha!!1

there used to be a LARGE dent here!! About a foot wide and a foot and some tall...

engine bay before:

Prepped:

and painted!!!! Not complete but looking nice!!

here's a teaser!!

what do ya'll think?

and one of a stock water pump touched up in black.

Man, i so excited!!! The jet-hot coating came out very nice. I might still wrap in places to get more heat protection, though not sure yet. Also, the compressor housing is getting powdercoated so when i have that i'll get a pick.
Right now, we're just wanting for the paintin' process to be 100% and finished. They all its left is final assembly and tunning.

Been thinking about doing a L92 swap with a carb intake, i think GMHPP makes one for the L92 so it may happen in the future.
However, i want to go as far as i can go with this combo and then think about changing parts.
i guess that is the withdrawal talkn'?! Anyways, thanks guys!!!
Cant wait to get this done and over with. I need to get this thing on the track and see what this shinny bucket can do!
anyways, enjoy homies!!! Oh, yes, these are the hot parts from teh OFI kit, it was asked earlier and i think i never answered the question.. laterZ!

Ok, were do i start? Paint, sure. The car is sprayed and ready for body assembly. I wanta take ya'll back and show a transition from the body work from the initial prep to now. First is off how the rear right quarter looked like. This is the work of a few punks in my neighborhood who decided to slam a shopping cart into the car... NICE!!

Next, this pics was taken during the prep/body work.. got a pop quix in a sec...

...and here is the final product!! Can one guess what is missing?
HINT: its not the big dent...

Not bad huh? I want to get her under the sun to see how the paint will shine in the day but so far in happy! Man, i need my car back, this is driving me insane!!

Some of the remainding parts floating around came back from powdercoating...
Lets keep the turbo guys happy so i'll start with this....

3.5" DP!!

Moroso Valvecovers!!

....some misc. stuff i though would look hot powdercoated as well.

....and, as a side note, i picked this up!! I couldn't wait anymore and i had to get something fun while the car is away. Its a year+ now and it sucks driving around a slow *** truck. Went to get a 07' CBR600RR... and walked-out or more like drove away with this...

Its like a bike on water, and its turbo.. so its fits the FI section very nicely!!! Disregard the florida weather, its been raining and the fires have kept the sun from shining nicely. Still, good day to break her in...

ya see, that is why you are here, to help us morons get these turbo's run and look good!!
