Default Belt Size

I purchased a LS1 spring tensioner from SDCE a while back. My car is at Conley's right now and they switched to a 3.4" pulley. Now they say that the belt that came with the kit is too big, no one makes a belt that will fit, and the only way to run that size pulley is to get a different tensioner. This seems odd to me because 3.4" is one of the pulleys that comes with the SDCE kit. http://www.sd-concepts.com/cart/inde...products_id=19 They also said I should go by their shop with a trailer and pick up my car and figure it out myself because it will be cheaper than them trying to figure out what it needs while they charge $80 per hour.

Thoughts?

If you are using the 7.25" blower pulley it should be Gates part # K080510 should be 51.5". Napa also carries gates belts but they are marketed as Napa belts. The Napa part number is 20-080510. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the information funnelone.

I went over to Conley's and that is one of the belts they have. They said that the # K080510 is too small. They said that a way to fix it is to replace the pulley (the one that can be adjusted to go up and down) with a smaller one. The one I have is 3.5" Dia. Where Is a good place to find one that is smaller?

Also this is an 8 rib setup.

Is the adj idler (not the tensioner) pulled all the way down? One more thing to check is make sure the tensioner is swinging all the way. My wife was helping me put mine on and the wrench kept hitting the maf and it would not let the tensioner swing far enough.

Conley's is installing it, so I don't know... They said they tried adjusting and couldn't get it to work. I got them a smaller pulley, so hopefully problem solved.

The new, smaller pulley is 3" Dia.
GM part #24506756.
ACD#15-4683.

funnelone, thanks once again for the help.
