Default Forged Street... CHime IN

Im kind of curious as to how many of you guys drive your cars with the forged setup on the street... how many miles you guys are getting out of the setup before its time to tear it back down again, After reading about which pistons to use in a forged motor using 4032 and 2618 alloy

How many miles you guys have accumulated on your setup?? Im talking about guys who hit the strip once in a while.. but usually drive their car on the road..

Just curious about real world perspective here..

thanks

It's an engine. In a street setup, if it's running, you leave alone. If it's not performing or you're hearing something you don't like, you crack it open. If you want to go bigger, you crack it open.

My 422 was never opened up with about 24K miles of NA and juice on it. That became a 9.3:1 turbo motor with a different set of pistons and heads for another 8K miles before sleeves finally startes showing ther age after 3.5 years of abuse.

The same crank and rods have moved on to the new block with new pistons for the new setup and life goes on.

If you're really beating on it with road racing or pounding on it with deep 9s and faster at the strip you might take a different approach. If you just run it around town and playing 5 times a year at the track, simply enjoy it.
